Soo Greyhounds goaltender Carter George etched his name into the record books on Wednesday.
With a goal against the London Knights, George became the first goalie in OHL history to score twice during his time in the league.
With the Knights trailing 3-2 and their net empty, George went to play the puck behind the net, then ripped a shot the length of the ice and into the open cage.
The Los Angeles Kings prospect scored his first goal on Nov. 14, 2024, as a member of the Owen Sound Attack.
George's goal on Wednesday helped seal a 5-2 win for the Greyhounds.
"It's probably bad to say, but I knew at four minutes I was gonna try at least once," George said post-game, per Janson Duench of The Sault Star. "Once I got that puck and I saw them go for a change, I knew I had a lane and I kind of whiffed on it, actually, so I was all pissed off at that. And then I realized it had legs and it was still good."
The Greyhounds acquired the 19-year-old netminder from the Attack on Jan. 7 ahead of the OHL trade deadline.
After Wednesday's victory, George is now 4-0 with a 1.25 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage since joining the Greyhounds, while also adding some offence.
The Thunder Bay, Ont., native was also one of Canada's goaltenders at the 2026 world juniors. He made four starts for the Canadians, including when they beat Finland in the bronze-medal game.
